Remapping Blender

There is a great discussion going on at the moment about the ui in Blender. I love the fact that the blender foundation really listens to the userbase and is tirelessly working to improve the software. At the speed blender is growing it's got a bright future.

I want to make it so

Pressing s brings up the scale gizmo
Pressing r brings up the Rotate gizmo
Pressing g brings up the Grab(translate)gizmo

Blender has some really great functionality. But sometimes seemingly elementary functions are difficult to achieve. Above is an illustration of how I would like to remap the translation/rotation/scale hotkeys in blender but it isnt possible at the moment. I live in hope :)

Review Learning Stencyl 3.x development by Innes Borkwood

I can whole heartedly recommend "Learning Stencyl" to anyone starting out. It answers  all the questions I had to learn the hard way, by scouring the forums and begging other users to explain. Its great that all this information has been collected and distilled into this one handy book.

If you want to get making games with stencyl quickly this is probably the fastest route.
For someone starting out with stencyl basically this is all you need in one neat and succint package. It introduces you gently, starting by tinkering with game examples all the way up to making your own games from scratch. The way the book is structured is clear and easy to understand. Innes has done a great job of introducing and explaining the concepts in a very accessable manner. The author even goes further than just the technical aspects of stencyl he also covers the basics of copyright and how to get game sponsorship when you complete your first project. Great advice to help you avoid the possible legal pitfalls that await the unwary.

Learning Stencyl 3.x is aimed at the complete beginner, I'm sure you could hand this book to pretty much anyone and they would be flying, jumping blasting and whizzing in no time. Definitely worth it for the time it will save you.

Just a little favor

This is a rough character I did as a favor for a student project. He is making a Kinect Hurling game. Basically made in one day. HURLIING CHALLENGE! for anyone who doesn't know, hurling is traditional Irish tribal warfare that supposedly evolved into a sport.
